About Us
Who are we?
Kia ora, we're Matt and Keri and together we grow and supply native plants for farms and lifestyle blocks from our family farm in Ngaroma.
We started this venture in 2019 and now grow around 25,000 plants each year. We value quality over quantity and focus on producing hardy plants our customers can trust to thrive in real-world conditions.
What began as a way to provide for our family has grown into a true passion. Caring for the land has always been part of our family story, and today that means planting natives on marginal and erosion-prone land, establishing riparian strips to protect freshwater, and protecting the native bush that surrounds us. Giving back to the forests that sustain our nursery is central to what we do, and we are committed to pest control, biodiversity protection, and supporting healthy ecosystems for generations to come.
Where are we?
Ngaroma is located in the heart of the North Island with the majestic Pureora Forest on its back doorstep. We like to think that we are in the middle of everywhere with Hamilton, Taupo and Rotorua just over an hours drive away. Situated at 400m above sea level, Ngaroma Natives provides an ideal location for producing wind and cold-hardy plants.
Giving back.
We’re committed to making a real difference for our local bush and waterways. Through pest control, habitat restoration and planting hardy native species, our work helps native wildlife thrive and landscapes stay healthy. Small actions that add up to lasting impact.
Our vision
To be a trusted supplier of native plants, recognised for our authenticity, affordability, and quality. We aim to support farmers, lifestyle block owners, and communities to restore and protect the land, waterways, and native ecosystems, while growing hardy plants that perform well in real-world conditions and contribute to healthy landscapes for future generations.
