Pest Control
In 2021 our family received a pest control grant through the Waikato Regional Council for the purpose of setting up a project in the 70 hectare bush block at the back of the farm. All of this was in an effort to give back to the environment that was the basis of our new nursery business.
This project is an ongoing labour of love with several kilometres of tracks cut/marked with bait stations and pest traps installed.
This project has become a real passion for our family. We love knowing that every rat, stoat or possum that we remove from the bush makes way for native birds, lizards and invertebrates to thrive. And, of course, protects our native trees from possum damage.
Ngaroma Natives now has DOC200 pest traps available to buy for $110 each (incl gst). These traps are ideal for rats, stoats and hedgehogs. We use genuine DOC200 stainless steel trap mechanisms with H4 treated timber and galvanised mesh, nails, bolts and staples. These traps are built to last.
