Pest Control
In 2021, our family received a pest control grant from Waikato Regional Council to establish a restoration project across the 70-hectare bush block at the back of our farm. This work was our way of giving back to the environment that underpins our nursery business.
The project remains an ongoing labour of love. Several kilometres of tracks have been cut and marked, with bait stations and pest traps installed throughout the block to support long-term ecological health.
This project has become a true passion for our family. Every rat, stoat, or possum removed from the bush helps create space for native birds, lizards, and invertebrates to thrive, while also protecting our native trees from ongoing possum damage.
Ngaroma Natives now has DOC200 pest traps available for purchase at $130 each (including GST). These traps are suitable for rats, stoats, and hedgehogs.
We use genuine DOC200 stainless steel trap mechanisms, combined with H4 treated timber and galvanised mesh, nails, bolts, and staples. Built tough and made to last, these traps are designed for long-term use in the bush.
